Ring neck doves

Welcome to my new colour ring neck dove page. I live in the center of the U.K. in Coventry, I have kept ring neck doves in the normal wild type colour for about 20 years now, recently from Belgium and through the U.K. dove group, I have imported a few new colours to the U.K. Many of these new colours are readily available in the U.S.A. but are new here.

New colour ring neck doves in the UK

dark ivory

This bird has a light brownish gray body, wing and tail. The head, neck and breast are off white. The neck ring is black. Ivory has a "mottled iris" in all combinations. Has bleached tail bar. Bill is dark tipped.

Tangerine Pearled

The body of this bird is the same as Tangerine, except that there are white feathers edged or tipped with tangerine, giving a pearled effect. The flights, tail and neck ring are white. The head, neck and breast are violet. Eye color same as in Tangerine. Bill can be light colored with dark tip or completely dark. <text courtesy of John Pire USA>

this is a poor example of a tangerine pearled, it will improve when it moults into its adult plumage.

Greys

This is my pair of greys, this colour was first bred in Italy, MR. Hien van grow of HOLLAND imported some breeding stock and recently exported the grey to Belgium, from where i got this pair. Notice how much darker grey they are ,and in this pair they have darker grey wing tips and dark tea stains on the tails, I hope these young birds are a true pair.

Feed Info

A WORD OF WARNING to anyone aquiring new birds, make sure you recieve a sample of the seed the birds have been fed on, when i got my new birds the instruction said "feed on normal dove food", so i did ? on what was NORMAL for ME TO USE,the doves did not want it and nearly starved as the did not like it, it took me a week of trial an error and many phone calls to the importers to find out the correct seeds fed to them. They are perfectly OK  now I use a good general aviary mix . SO PLEASE ASK FOR SPECIFIC FEEDS, its too late when there dead?

Apricote

These are one of the pretty most dainty r.n. doves in my collection, the Apricote is a lovely subtle colour, a beautiful crisp white ,with gorgeous apricot wings, they show better at close quarters in a white painted flight. I also have apricots which are similar but have a darker apricot wing, MR Hien van grouw of Holland has given the following description:- Apricot is a combination of Phaeo (called Tangerine in the USA) and White-headed (called Ivory in the USA).

My Pieds

THIS is my pair of wild type pieds, a really nice pair, as you can see the hen on the left carries a lot less dark pied feathers than the cock, i hope these are a true pair as these are my favourite colours , I also believe there is a blue mutation of the pied now available in the USA

new photo soon

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my new colour doves as much as i get pleasure from keeping them. If you have any comments for improvement of this page, photos to share ,or need any help or advice then please feel free to e-mail me, thank you for your time, RUPERT.
